Introduction and Aims
In the event of damage to the skin, the epidermis of which goes to the disintegration of the body, is a wound that is common in diabetics. The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of alcohol extract of curcumin on wound healing in diabetic male rats.
Materials and Methods
In this study, 48 male wistar rats were divided into 4 groups of 8 (control (healthy diabetes along with other groups, intraperitoneally as a citrate buffer), Sham (diabetic dose 55mg/kg Streptozotocine and without treatment) experimental 1 (treatment of diabetic eucerin), experimental 2 (treatment of diabetic and alcoholic extract of curcumin ointment). In an area of 3 cm2 dairy tested wounded on the left side of the spine created. The process of healing 14 and 21 days after wounding were examined macroscopically.
Results
The later wound healing was reported in streptozocin diabetic compared to the control group and wound healing in experimental groups treated with alcohol extract of curcumin was faster than control.
Conclusion
The alcohol extract of curcumin skin accelerate wound healing in normal and diabetic samples.
