Investigating chronic changes of some functional indicators of the cardiovascular system in patients who have recovered from corona disease

Abstract


Introduction: The emergence of COVID-19 disease caused by infection with the new coronavirus quickly led to the declaration of a coronavirus pandemic. Although the disease often recovers after passing through different clinical phases, many long-term complications have been reported in various organs, including the cardiovascular system, endocrine glands, and kidneys. This study aimed to investigate chronic changes in some parameters of the cardiovascular system, including ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate in patients who have recovered from corona disease at intervals of 3 and 6 months.

Materials and methods: 120 patients admitted to the hospital with a definite diagnosis of coronavirus in the first 6 months of 1400 were selected and examined using an available and targeted sampling method. Blood pressure and heart rate were analyzed using a digital sphygmomanometer, and analysis of ECG factors using ECG recording. Patients were called back to the health center after 3 and 6 months of recovery, and the above parameters were re-recorded. The data were analyzed using SPSS-16 statistical analysis software.

Findings: The results of this study showed that blood pressure, heart rate, and electrocardiogram parameters are important functional indicators of the heart system, and blood circulation in patients with corona is disturbed 3 and 6 months after discharge from the hospital. Changes are related to the severity of the disease.

Conclusion: Examining the parameters of cardiovascular function, such as ECG, blood pressure, and heart rate in recovered patients is of fundamental importance to perform timely appropriate treatment measures and prevent or reduce the mortality rate in these patients.
