Abstract
Introduction: Social health and academic burnout can have significant impacts on students' academic performance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between social health and academic burnout among students at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Yazd.

Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted. The study population was selected using Cochran's formula, and 360 participants were chosen through random sampling. Data were collected using the self-reported Keyes and Shapiro Social Health Questionnaire and the Breso et al. Academic Burnout Questionnaire. Non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis, and Wilcoxon) and parametric tests (independent t-test, ANOVA, and Spearman's correlation coefficient) were conducted using SPSS version 26.

Results: Significant differences were observed in social health and its dimensions based on gender, academic level, age, and field of study (p<0.05). However, no significant differences were found in the social flourishing dimension based on gender or in social coherence and social integration based on age (p>0.05). Significant differences were also observed in academic burnout and its dimensions based on academic level, age, and field of study (p<0.05). However, no significant differences were found in academic burnout, academic exhaustion, and academic inefficacy based on gender (p>0.05). Overall, a significant negative correlation was found between social health and academic burnout among students (p<0.01).

Conclusion: Designing programs that help students build stronger social relationships with their peers and professors, such as organizing regular social and cultural events to strengthen students' sense of belonging and participation, can be prioritized by relevant managers.
