Introduction
The Covid-19 epidemic is considered as a unique stress factor with potential consequences for pregnancy. the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the level of anxiety of covid-19 by getting closer to women to childbirth in pregnant mothers referring to the health centers of Isfahan city.
Materials and Methods
This prospective follow-up study was conducted on 215 pregnant women at the beginning of the third trimester (28-34 weeks) who met the inclusion. The demographic-fertility information, factors related to corona questionnaire, and Corona Disease Anxiety Scale were completed by the mothers in a calm environment. Next, the Corona Disease Anxiety Scale was completed by the mothers at the end of the third trimester (34-40 weeks) so that there is at least 5 weeks between filling the questionnaires. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 22 software using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, Spearman and Pearson correlation coefficients.
Results
The findings showed that the mean score of the total COVID-19 anxiety and the psychological and physical components increased by 10.6, 6.08, and 4.51 units in 34-40 weeks of pregnancy compared to 28-34 weeks, respectively, and this increase was significant (p<0.001 t=16.72). Also, the amount of Covid 19 anxiety was low at 62.8 %. average at 32.6 % and 4.7 % at high level, while Covid 19 anxiety score in 34-40 weeks of pregnancy in 29.3%, 46%, and 24.7% were at low, medium, and high levels, respectively.
Conclusion
According to the results of the study, the anxiety level of the majority of pregnant mothers was moderate to severe, so it is necessary to pay more attention to the need for screening for anxiety in late pregnancy, designing psychological support interventions, and integrating mental health assessment into pregnancy care, especially during epidemics and stressful situations such as war.
