English

Introduction

Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common inflammatory disease of the joints and in addition to physical disability, mental disorders are very common in these patients. mental rumination is one of the problems that patients with rheumatoid arthritis face, and one of the factors that has a great impact on it is the perception of pain and functional dysfunction of patients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the role of pain perception and functional disability in predicting the mental rumination of women with rheumatoid arthritis in Khorramabad.

Materials and Methods

The research design was correlational. The statistical population included all women with rheumatoid arthritis in Khorramabad in 1398. Sample size including 120 people were selected from among women with rheumatism. The tools used in this study were mental rumination questionnaires, pain perception and functional disability. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (correlation and regression) methods of SPSS 24 software were used to analyze the data.

Results

The results showed that 44% of women's mental rumination with rheumatoid arthritis can be predicted through pain perception and functional disability.

Conclusion

Perception of pain and functional disability has a positive and significant relationship with mental rumination in rheumatoid arthritis women and has a relatively decisive role in reducing the mental rumination of these patients. Therefore, in order to reduce the mental rumination of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, it is possible to reduce the perception of pain and functional disability rheumatoid arthritis women.
