Examining Effective Factors in Faculty Members' Use of E-learning Based on the Theory of Reasoned Action

Abstract
Introduction: In recent years, especially with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, access to distance learning has improved significantly. This improvements have been achieved through cost savings and enhanced technical skills in using technology and tools, leading to an unprecedented increase in the popularity of e-learning as a teaching method. The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that effectively influence the use of e-learning based on the theory of reasoned action. This theory is one of the most effective models of attitudes, behaviors, and psychological patterns. It is posited that the most important determinant of a person’s behavior is their behavioral intention.

Methods: This research is descriptive and the statistical population consists of 39 members of the academic staff of Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tool was a researcher-designed questionnaire.

Results: The research results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the dimensions of attitude, abstract norms, behavioral intention, and behavior with the intention to use e-learning by the faculty members of Neishabur University of Medical Sciences based on the theory of reasoned action.

Conclusion: The aim of this study was to determine whether academic employees make decisions when deciding to use e-learning on an appropriate and justified basis and what the consequences and outcomes of their performance before the decision are whether they pay attention to its use or not.
