Abstract
Introduction: suicide is one of the major concerns in the field of mental health. Young people are known as the highest-risk group for suicide. The purpose of this study is to investigate attitude towards suicide based on self-compassion and impulsivity, with the mediation of perceived stress.

Methods: The current research is descriptive and correlational in nature. The sample size consisted of 336 students of Azad University, selected through random sampling method and using Cochran's formula. To collect data, four standardized questionnaires were used: the ATTS Suicide Attitude Questionnaire, Teff et al‘s self-compassion, Barrett et al. impulsivity, Cohen et al.’s perceived stress.

Results: The results of the research showed a significant relationship between the components of self-compassion, impulsivity and suicidal attitude, considering the mediating role of perceived stress.

Conclusion: Based on the findings, it is recommended that families and universities work to strengthen self-compassion and control impulsiveness and stress in students, particularly those displaying symptoms of depression. It is further suggested that universities consider the necessary arrangements.
